The journey of forgotten gadgets ends up in student dorms/
  1. Eleven University of Bucharest dorms now have collection points for electronic waste (the fastest-growing waste stream in the world).
  2. You can drop off:
old phones, laptops, headphones, kettles, razors, or any other gadgets you no longer use or that no longer work.
  3. March 20 – April 20, 2026: a competition between dorms is taking place — the dorm that collects the most e-waste wins.
  4. Prize: a clothes dryer for the winning dorm.
  5. Recycle in the ENVIRON box in your dorm — help the environment and maybe dry your clothes faster 🙂
  6. Every recycled gadget counts and helps you declutter: less mess in your drawers, more space, and a positive impact on the environment.
  7. The full campaign rules are available here.

Headphones that only work “in one ear,” outdated laptops that survived endless binge-watching nights and got you through exam sessions without retakes, cracked-screen phones, and those “just in case” chargers.

What’s next?

The story of the gadgets left forgotten in drawers has come to an end.

ENVIRON and the University of Bucharest are bringing change to 11 dorms, now equipped with dedicated e-waste collection points. Here, you can drop off the gadgets you no longer use, knowing they’ll end up in a better place.

What comes next: RECYCLING

Between March 20 and April 20, dorms will compete against each other. The dorm that collects the largest amount of e-waste will win an LG clothes dryer.

The campaign is ongoing.
