FAQ

A distributor is any company that sells electrical or electronic equipment, either in physical stores or online, without being the direct producer or importer. If you sell products powered by electricity or batteries, you fall into this category.

Distributors play an active role in the responsibility chain for WEEE management.

When delivering a new product, at the customer’s request, distributors are required to take back WEEE on a “one-to-one” basis, free of charge, under the same delivery conditions as the new product, if the old equipment is of an equivalent type and fulfilled the same functions as the new one. Customers must be informed about this option before purchase.

Distributors with sales areas of at least 400 square meters in the EEE field are required to ensure free take-back of very small WEEE from end users, in-store or nearby, without the obligation to buy an equivalent product.

Distributors must inform customers, at the time of EEE sale, about the costs associated with the collection, treatment, and environmentally sound disposal of WEEE, by clearly indicating these costs separately.

The WEEE collection activity from households carried out by distributors is not subject to registration or authorization requirements under Government Emergency Ordinance 92/2021.

Distributors are required to deliver collected WEEE to official collection centers or directly to treatment operators, acting on behalf of producers.

Yes. If you sell electrical products and have physical points of sale, the law requires that you collect WEEE from consumers. We provide the necessary infrastructure and logistics.

We provide dedicated containers for small items (e.g., phones, razors, cables) and large items (e.g., monitors, used appliances). The design prioritizes safety, visual appeal, and ease of use.

Absolutely. Depending on your activity volume and geographic coverage, we’ll determine the number of locations, collection frequency, and infrastructure needed. We have the logistics capacity to support extensive networks.

Not in the same way as in physical stores, but there are specific provisions for eCommerce—especially when delivering a new product in exchange for an old one. We’ll guide you through every step.
