“You’re active, they’re inactive” – recycle your old electronics at World Class, the new ENVIRON campaign

ENVIRON launches “You’re active, they’re inactive” campaign, as World Class becomes the first fitness chain wquipped with E-Waste recycling points

Despite rankings showing that Romanians are lagging behind when it comes to both exercising and recycling, ENVIRON and World Class Romania aim to prove that sports and environmental responsibility are deeply interconnected. A good habit—like staying active—can inspire other positive actions, such as recycling.

Recycle Your Old Electronics at World Class

With the message “You’re active, they’re inactive”, ENVIRON and World Class are marking International E-Waste Day with a campaign dedicated to the fitness community. The initiative encourages gym members to extend their healthy habits beyond physical activity—by recycling inactive electronic devices.

One good habit—staying active—leads to another: recycling.

“Just like in fitness, results don’t come overnight when it comes to collecting old electrical equipment. But just as every workout counts, every cable, phone, or device recycled properly contributes to our long-term health and wellbeing. To stay healthy, we need both a healthy body and a less polluted country,” said Roxana Puia, Communication Director at ENVIRON.

When your electronics can’t keep up, it’s time to recycle them.

“We believe movement generates positive energy—for people and for the planet. For 25 years, World Class Romania has inspired Romanians to be more active, more often. Now we’re taking the next natural step: extending this culture of personal responsibility to the environment. Through our partnership with ENVIRON, we encourage people to take the energy of movement beyond the gym—toward a more conscious lifestyle and a cleaner planet,” said Kent Orrgren, CEO of World Class Romania.

How the Campaign Works

Anyone visiting a World Class club can bring in an old or broken electronic device and drop it in the special collection box placed by ENVIRON at the reception area.
After handing in their e-waste, participants can scan the QR code on the box and fill out a short online form mentioning what item they’ve recycled.

Those who recycle and register for the campaign “You’re Active, They’re Inactive” will enter a draw to win one of three annual World Class memberships offered by ENVIRON.

The campaign runs from October 15 to November 15 across all 47 World Class locations nationwide, and the official rules can be found here.
