suporterii care recicleaza la arena nationala

National team fans invited to recycle e-waste at the matches against Moldova and Austria

Every goal scored by Romania in the match against Austria will win a lucky fan a next-generation smartphone.

For every goal the Romanian national team scores against Austria, one lucky supporter will receive a brand-new smartphone. ENVIRON wants to reward fans who bring small electrical waste for recycling at the special collection points set up at every entrance to the National Arena.

Now in its second edition, the recycling campaign “Natura Bunului Simț, la firul ierbii”, organized by the Environ Association and the Romanian Football Federation in partnership with the National Arena, focuses on raising awareness and encouraging National Team supporters to take part in recycling small electrical devices.
The campaign covers both of this weekend’s matches — the Romania vs. Moldova friendly (October 9) and the Romania vs. Austria World Cup qualifier (October 12).

“We want to celebrate together with our National Team supporters — both Romania’s victories on the field and a new record for small electrical recycling at the stadium. The timing is even more special since both matches take place just before International E-Waste Recycling Day,” said Roxana Puia, Environ’s Communications Director.

This year, International E-Waste Day (#ewasteday), marked on October 14, will highlight the importance of Critical Raw Materials (CRMs) — elements sourced from only a few countries worldwide, yet vital for supporting the green and digital transition.

Some of these valuable resources can be recovered from discarded small electronics such as toys, video cameras, microwaves, vacuum cleaners, or e-cigarettes. These items make up about one-third of all global e-waste, yet only 12% are currently recycled.
According to a 2022 European survey, the average household owns 74 small electronic devices, including 9 that still work but are unused and 4 that are broken.

How to win recycling prizes

Romania vs. Moldova
To join the game, bring a small electrical device — cables, phones, toothbrushes, remote controls, etc. — to the National Arena.
The first 100 fans who recycle during the Romania–Moldova match will instantly receive a 50-lei voucher from one of Romania’s largest online retailers.
All participants will also enter a raffle for a chance to win 20 tickets to the Romania–Austria match (October 12).

Romania vs. Austria
The stakes get even higher for Sunday’s game!
The first 100 fans who recycle small electrical items at the National Arena during the Romania–Austria match will again receive 50-lei vouchers — and a few lucky winners will take home the latest-generation smartphones.
The more goals Mircea Lucescu’s team scores against Austria, the more smartphones will be awarded!

At the first edition of the „Natura Bunului Simț, la firul ierbii” campaign, held during the Romania–Cyprus match last spring, National Team supporters recycled 1,037 old devices, weighing a total of 457 kilograms of e-waste.
